The Black Sheep, an eccentric name for a product that stresses out its diversity and particularity. Its thoroughly modern philosophy is evident from its contemporary appearance, its screw cap and its characteristic freshness. It is produced at the Mackedon Winery at Platanotopos, Kavala, while the vineyards are found in a small distance.
The Black Sheep red wine is made from the varieties Syrah and Merlot and belongs in the same wine family as The Black Sheep Sauvignon Blanc-Semillon-Vidiano and The Black Sheep Xinomavro – Syrah.

Vinification Techniques: The pre-fermentation extraction (skin contact) method is applied for three days. The wine then follows a classic red wine vinification and matures for 4-6 months in stainless tanks with oak chips.

Tasting Notes: Vivid ruby color with purple highlights. Intense aromas of mature red fruits, plum and hints of pepper. Velvet mouth with soft tannins and an aromatic, fruity aftertaste.
Perfect Pairing: Served at 16-18οC, with red meat, spicy cheese and refreshing green salads.
Serving Temperature: 15-18oC.
